Tony Rock
Tony Rock
Coming off an extraordinary busy year hosting shows like TVOne’s new outrageous game show “The Game of Dating,” “All Def Movie Awards” on Fusion, “All Def Comedy” on HBO, weekly series shows like “The Warm Up” on NBATV and “Mann and Wife” on Bounce; this favorite comics’ favorite comic has been busy getting ready for another eventful year. Starring in films such as “Couples Night,” slated for a digital release, and back to back tour dates, Tony Rock continues to exceed all expectations causing laughter everywhere he goes.
Born in the same Brooklyn New York Hospital where most of his eight brothers and sisters found their way, Tony Rock, not to be confused with his favorite wrestler, was born laughing. Being the brother of an established entertainer, Tony was able to successfully elude the shadows of his older sibling and step into his own limelight. Tony has proven himself as one of the most talented, well-respected, sought after entertainers in the business.
Just a few years prior, Tony hosted the newly revamped legendary talent competition “Apollo Live,” for two seasons on BET, he also had a cameo in the number one box office film “Think Like a Man,” TV appearances on BET’s “Let’s Stay Together” and Vh-1’s “Single Ladies,” all while still managing to star in a straight to DVD film “C’mon Man,” in addition to co-hosting the BET Awards red-carpet for the second year in a row.
Steadily on the road every weekend, Tony has gained a domestic and even international presence; being able to perform in major metropolitan cities and small towns between the east coast, which he represents proudly, and the west coast, where he takes advantage of the Hollywood lifestyle. When in New York, he is a regular at the Gotham Comedy Club, The Comic Strip and the Comedy Cellar and when in Los Angeles, he is a regular at The Comedy Store, The Comedy Union, and headlining at The Laugh Factory. After more than a decade of experience, Tony has proven himself as a skillful comedian, actor, and executive producer.
Outside of the lights-camera-action, Tony works tirelessly as the founder of the MyROCK Diabetes Foundation, a charity organization established in honor of his late father.
