Thom Tran
Thom Tran
Thom Tran is a Los Angeles–based comedian, actor, musician, and U.S. Army combat veteran whose stand-up career began after surviving a gunshot wound to the back of the head while deployed to Iraq.
Following his medical retirement, Tran relocated to Los Angeles in 2008 and quickly immersed himself in the comedy scene. He went on to found The GIs of Comedy, an internationally touring, all-military veteran stand-up group that has performed for U.S. service members stationed and deployed in combat zones worldwide. The group was featured on Larry Charles’ Dangerous World of Comedy (Netflix) and has appeared on CBS and NBC.
As a solo act, Tran tours nationally and internationally, including dates across Europe with longtime collaborator Brad Williams, performing in Denmark, Norway, England, Ireland, and beyond. His material blends sharp observational humor with lived experience, delivered with discipline and timing honed both on stage and in service.
Based in Hollywood, Tran is a regular at premier clubs including the World Famous Laugh Factory and the Comedy & Magic Club, in addition to theaters and venues throughout Southern California.
On screen, Tran has co-starred on NCIS: Los Angeles and SEAL Team (CBS) and appears in the feature film My Dead Friend Zoe alongside Morgan Freeman, Sonequa Martin-Green, and Ed Harris.
